Arrivals
Our doors will open at 9:00 a.m. Please wait in the hallway until a teacher opens the door and is ready to greet the children. Make sure to sign your child in, and leave any notes in the spiral notebook on top of the cubbies.
Departures
We will open the doors for departures at 11:20. Please wait for your child in the hallway – we will send him/her out to you. Make sure to check cubbies and sign your child out. Children are not permitted to go up the stairs without an adult. Please be prompt when picking up your child – this saves many tears. Anything after 11:30 is considered late and will be subject to a late fee (see handbook). If you are stuck in traffic, leave a message on our classroom phone (see above).
Snacks
Please provide a PEANUT FREE snack for your child in a labeled lunch box or plastic Zip-Lock baggy. We prefer beverages to be in a spill-proof “sippy cup”. See separate literature on appropriate peanut-free snacks. Do NOT send sweets such as cookies and candy. Nothing with peanuts or nuts will be allowed into the classroom.
Diapers
We appreciate if you send your child in the freshest diaper possible. There is a changing pad and diapers in the girl’s bathroom should you need to change your child’s diaper before class begins. Thank you for your help with this!
Potty-Trained Children
For those children who are potty-trained, please take them to the bathroom before they enter the classroom. We will also take him/her to the bathroom during class time as needed. During the school year if you feel your child is ready to start using the potty, let us know and we will try during class time. Pull-Ups work best for us during the potty-training period, or thick underwear.
Personal Items – please leave toys at home. Stuffed animals or other “lovies” are okay.
